We continue to honor our land by taking extra initiatives to implement sustainable land practices here at Cali Camp.
Reusable Water Bottles
All campers must bring a reusable water bottle to camp everyday. We have placed refrigerated, filtered water refill stations all around camp so that campers and staff can continue to stay hydrated while minimizing the use of single use plastics. We often give groups extra points or prizes when every camper in their group brings a reusable water bottle!
Composting
at Camp
During lunch all campers are taught the difference between compost, recycle and landfill waste. After eating, campers sort their own waste into the correct bins so that the waste gets processed correctly.
Intentional
Products
We are very intentional about buying products that are eco friendly, compostable, and overall as sustainable as possible.
Manzanita
School
Big Rock Ranch is not only home to Cali Camp, but also Manzanita School and Institute. Manzanita runs a working, soil farm and garden where all food is composted, as well as all manure from our animal farm.
