  • Great question, I'm glad you asked! Our campers are divided into groups of about 15 - 18 campers of similar age. Each group gets a set schedule to take their campers to throughout the day. One of those activities is always swimming everyday!

Counselors stay with their campers throughout the day with their Co-Counselor and are in charge of ensuring campers are safe and taken care of. This includes making sure that the campers have their needs met. These needs include 3 basic parts:

    1. Physical Needs : Do your campers need water, to use the restroom, are they physically safe, do they have lunch, sunscreen, etc.. ?

    2. Emotional Needs : Are they making friends, ensuring zero-tolerance for bullying, learning skills such as grit, resilience, communication, etc... ?

    3. Social Needs : Are they having fun? Are they participating and trying new things?

Specialists stay at their activity area while campers of ages 4 - 13 rotate to them each period of the day. Specialists are responsible for planning, teaching, and guiding the campers while they are at your specialized activity. You'll work one-on-one with your Team Leader who will help you create awesome lesson plans and activities for the campers to experience while they are at your specialty activity.

  • You are welcome to apply to camp, however please know that Cali Camp is a day camp and we do not provide any housing or visa services to our staff members.
